QUALITY CONTROL
Our Quality Department is one of the fundamental pillars of the company.
We are strongly focused on quality control and continuous improvement, ensuring the highest standards at every stage of the production process.
We have three highly specialised in-house laboratories equipped with state-of-the-art instruments to ensure accurate, reliable and consistent checks on every product.
Each laboratory plays a specific role in the verification process, helping to maintain high quality standards and consolidate the trust of our customers.
Two metrology laboratories, equipped with the latest generation of instruments and machinery, are dedicated to the dimensional and functional control of components.
One laboratory is dedicated to friction materials and is certified by the Italian Ministry for the approval of E3 brake pads, confirming our technical expertise and compliance with the most stringent regulations.
We also ensure 100% quality control on the wheel hub production line, guaranteeing reliable, safe products that comply with international standards.

Laboratory 1: Metrology
Laboratory 1 Metrology is dedicated to dimensional and functional checks on all products featured in Emmerre catalogues.
Thanks to the presence of a latest-generation three-dimensional measuring machine (TESA 3D), the laboratory ensures maximum precision, reliability and repeatability at every stage of the inspection process.
Each check is carried out following rigorous and traceable procedures, ensuring that every component fully complies with the quality standards and dimensional tolerances defined during the design phase.

Laboratory 2: Friction Materials
Laboratory 2 specialises in the testing and characterisation of friction materials - brake pads.
To ensure full compliance with European safety and performance standards, the laboratory has recently been certified by the Italian Ministry of Transport to carry out quality controls on E3-approved brake pads.
The laboratory is equipped with advanced instruments:
Krauss Machine - Shear Machine - Durometer - Compressibility Machine.
These instruments allow the mechanical and physical properties of materials to be verified with maximum precision and repeatability.
Thanks to these instruments and rigorous control procedures, Emmerre ensures that every brake pad meets the highest standards of quality, safety and reliability.

LABORATORY 3: METROLOGY
Metrology Laboratory No. 3 is dedicated to dimensional and quality checks on wheel hubs, the heart of our automatic wheel hub kit production line.
Equipped with a latest-generation three-dimensional (3D) measuring machine, the laboratory allows for extremely high-precision checks, ensuring maximum reliability and dimensional consistency for each component.
This laboratory is the starting point for the quality assurance process that accompanies each piece to the robotic assembly line, where the hubs are assembled with the highest level of accuracy.
This is where Emmerre's commitment to guaranteeing excellent, safe products that are ready for the highest performance takes shape.

ROBOTISED LINES DEDICATED TO THE PRODUCTION OF WHEEL HUB KITS
Technological innovation has always been at the heart of Emmerre's philosophy.
We constantly invest in automation and intelligent production systems to ensure quality, efficiency and total traceability at every stage of the production process.
Our robotic lines are one of the highlights of this vision: a state-of-the-art system designed to combine mechanical precision, digital control and absolute reliability.
Assembly and Quality Control of Wheel Hubs
Emmerre has a robotic line dedicated to the assembly and quality control of wheel hubs complete with bearings and phonic wheels, as well as two semi-robotic lines that guarantee the same assembly precision and quality controls.
Designed and built in-house, it allows for the automatic assembly of hubs and related components using robots and high-precision presses.
On Line 1, a robot with a wrist payload of 350 kg handles the movement of wheel hubs, while a second robot handles the lighter related components, such as bearings and ABS rings, ensuring synchronisation, speed and safety at every stage.
On Lines 2 and 3, normally used for the assembly of wheel hub kits for commercial vehicles or kits that require the assembly of tapered roller bearings, the operator himself, assisted by the necessary tools, will handle the components.

Each line operates completely autonomously thanks to dedicated software that controls the assembly parameters (forces and mounting dimensions) in real time, ensuring repeatability and absolute precision.
Once assembly is complete, the hub is transferred to the testing unit, where the rolling torque is checked to validate its performance.
Quality control is carried out on 100% of the assembled hubs, ensuring that each product meets the highest standards.
Finally, once quality compliance has been confirmed, the wheel hub is marked for traceability, confirming the origin and guarantee of the Emmerre product.
100% automatic assembly and quality control of wheel hubs
Thanks to innovative software, the robot operates using specific force and size values for each type of wheel hub, ensuring precise and correct insertion of the bearing into the hub seat.
For each hub assembled, the robot performs a check:
- Correct positioning of the bearing and ABS ring position
- Correct bearing mounting force
- Correct rotation and absence of irregularities in the bearing rolling torque
- Clearance test, developed using a system consisting of a linear transducer, a measuring clamp and dedicated software, designed to identify with extreme precision any anomalies or irregularities in movement within the hub.
This fully automated process ensures maximum reliability, traceability and consistent quality at every stage of assembly.
