Our quality control 
The production of Emmerre brake pads is continually monitored, submitting the samples taken on a statistically controlled and random basis from separate production lots, to dimensional, mechanical and tribological checks as required by standard UN/ECE R-90, so as to guarantee conformity with the approved types (ECE R-90 8.1).

After the dimensional and external appearance check, the groups of brake gasket spare parts are submitted to mechanical strength tests (ECE R-90, 5.3) and reaction to friction (ECE R-90, annex 9), as indicated below:

- Shear strength test, in conformity with standard UNI EN ISO 6312-2-2001, that evaluates the force to be applied to the pad to separate the braking section from its related metal support. The value read, divided by the braking surface, indicates the specific separation load that is to be equal to or
more than 250 N / cm2.
- Compressibility test, in conformity with standard UNI EN ISO 6310-2-2001, that evaluates the deformation of the braking material submitted to a specific pre-determined pressure. The value read is not to be more than 2% of the initial thickness for tests at environment temperature, whereas it is not be more than 5% of the initial thickness for tests performed at 400°C.
- Rockwell hardness test, in conformity with standard UNI EN ISO 2039-2-2011, that evaluates the Rockwell hardness of the braking material that is to be within the average of the values read on the approved type.
- Friction behaviour test, in conformity with procedure ECE R-90 annex 9, that evaluates the friction coefficient and wear values of the braking material, submitted to a series of braking cycles with pre-determined temperature, specific pressure and dragging speed conditions.

 

Emmerre also has a laboratory specifically equipped for research, development and perfection of braking gaskets, to optimise the mechanical and tribological characteristics for specific uses and /or very heavy duty.

 

 

 

 

3D laser scanner

The technological Innovation aimed to the continuous improvement of products and service quality is EMMERRE hallmark.

The continuous investments in equipment of last generation allow to develop and manufacture innovative products that
answers the market requirements.

Most of the parts that EMMERRE develops are protected by national and international PATENTS.

Since 2016 EMMERRE Research and Development laboratory has been equipped with a 3D laser scanner.

The 3D laser scanner allows the reverse engineering starting from a sample adopting new technical solutions to improve the parts characteristics.

In addition The 3D scanner technology allows to perform all the activities that guarantee the product quality: inspections, measurements, conformity, claim analysis and so on.
